It's been a few years since I read this, but every time I run across it on one of my shelves it's like fondly seeing an old friend. Perhaps something newer has come along that I'm not aware of, but this was a fun and informative read when I was buying old pieces of furniture and building our household. There's all kinds of superb information and guidance therein, and I've even given this as a wedding present to like-minded friends. This one definitely ranks as one of the more useful and informative books I've owned.Caveat: There are instances when msny antiques lose value if refinished, so you should check out that possibility before getting too carried away by reading this offering.
