This book is intended as a "minimum requirement reading" for new gun owners. The book fills the bill adequately, but the problem is that it handles the issues very superficially. The book addresses about all the important issues, but it does not give them the proper treatment. On the other hand, because the book is very thin and fast to read, it more probable that a prospective gun owner has the patience to read through it, and it certainly is better to have read this book than having read no book at all. But the problem is that some persons (who are not into reading, anyway) may think that they have read "a book about shooting guns", and think that they don't need to study the subject any more. One has to wish that reading this book gives a beginner an stimulus to study the subject further.
