I was lucky enough to lay my hands on a copy of Southwick's guide about 5 years ago. As a collector of antique edged weapons, I found this to be beautifully illustrated with a variety of weapons from the earliest civilizations to the present, spanning many continents and countries. It was nice to see a volume that encompasses such material with descriptions of some of the rarer types of weapons. The only negative is the price listed values of these pieces dating from the 1980's, when the book was originally published. If ONLY collectors could still get them for these prices!! That one inaccuracy keeps it from being 5 stars. Avaluable reference with pictures that border on true art!
