About The Author
Joe Blitman is known internationally as a Barbie doll expert. His articles have appeared in Doll Reader, Barbie Bazaar, and Miller's Collector magazines. The co-owner of JOE's, a thriving mail order business that sells new and vintage Barbie dolls, clothing, and accessories, Joe co-produces "The Joe & Marl Shows-Barbie Goes to..", a series of All-Barbie doll shows and sales held throughout the country. He co-starred with Leeza Gibbons in Mattel's "Barbie as Scarlett O'Hara" infomercial, and has been seen on "The CBS Morning News," "Leeza," "Personal FX," and many U.S. and European documentaries and newscasts about Barbie. Joe is the producer of "Joe Blitman's Oh You Beautiful Doll!", an hour-long, full-color videotape in which he shows you everything you need to know to collect Barbie dolls, including a big section on cleaning and restoring dolls and clothing. Born in New Jersey and educated at Oberlin College in Ohio, Joe now lives in Hollywood, CA, in a pink Mediterranean-style home friends have named "Barbie's Dream Villa". He is an avid collector.
